Study on the Therapeutic Effects on the Hyperchoresteremia and Bloodpressure of Aqueous Extract of Mori Radicis in the Rabbits

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to investigate the therapeutic effects on hypercholesteremia and blood pressure of aqueous extract of Mori Radicis were studied.
Fourteen rabbits were equally divided into two groups; control group and trial group.
Both group was fed with lanoline rich diet for the first 10 days and then only feednector diet was given to the control group for the remaineder of the experimental period (17 days).
The trial group was fed with feednector diet instead of lanoline rich diet and Mori Radicis aqueous extract for the same above period.
The results o. the total cholesterol contents in serum of each group were as follows:
The aqueous extract of Mori Radicis inhibited the increase of total cholesterol in seurm of rabbits administrated with lanolin rich diet.
And intravenous injection of above extract regularly caused the dose-related, lowering of blood pressure in the normal rabbits anesthetized with urethane. The pressure rised by vagotomy was inhibited by administration of Sample.
